Online Ordering Now Available for Apostille and Authentication Requests

Important

September 3rd, 2026

The Utah Office of Lieutenant Governor is pleased to announce secure online ordering through ApostilleXpress (AX), allowing eligible customers to submit requests entirely online and receive Digital Apostilles when available. Starting September 3rd, you no longer need to visit our office or mail your documents to receive a legalized certificate for use abroad. Create an account, upload your documents, pay securely, and receive your certificate, when issued.

What This Means for You

Earlier this year, our office introduced Digital Delivery, giving customers the option to receive their Apostille or Certificate of Authentication electronically. Online Ordering completes that upgrade. The entire request, from submission to delivery, can now happen from your home, office, or anywhere in the world.

No appointment needed. Skip the trip to the Capitol and the scheduling process entirely.
No mailing delays. Online submissions bypass mail security processing, which can add days to mailed requests.
Delivered instantly after processing. Your Digital Delivery certificate arrives the moment it is issued, and can be sent to multiple recipients at once.
Keep your originals. Eligible documents are submitted as scans, so your original documents never leave your hands.
The new international standard. Digital certificates are legally equivalent to paper, multi-use, and instantly verifiable by any recipient worldwide.

Verifying Your Certificate

Every certificate issued by our office, digital or paper, can be verified by your recipient at Verify Apostille (verifyapostille.utah.gov).

Still Prefer In-Person or Mail-In Service?

Both remain available for handling your original documents. Please see our process and request forms for more information.
